Last week Elizabeth and I brought the boys for a walk around the block. This turned into quite the adventure because they wanted to explore everything along the way. They were so curious about every little thing. They were so cute about discovering every thing. Watching them discover things gives you a whole new perspective on so many different things – most of which we simply pass by without another thought. They make our walk take twice as long, but it was at least twice as fun. Note...they love going outside without shoes. They do have shoes, but we went without them. We have gone on several walks since then, but have worn shoes every time.
This first pictures is about 1/4 of the way around the block. It took us probably 10 minutes to get this far due to all of the rocks the boys kept finding. After playing with rocks, the boys spotted a cat and started their pursuit.

It wasn't until we distracted them with more rocks that they left the poor kitty alone.

Matthew was the first to start walking again. Don't you love his stripes and plaid? I made the mistake of giving him and M&M. It got his original shirt dirty. The striped shirt actually looked pretty cute with his plaid shorts.
This was the only way we could get Jonathan to catch up with Matthew. Silly boy. (they love having their heads brush through the trees....they just giggle)
Eventually we got both boys to walk again. Silly Jonathan insisted on stepping on the pine cones. It wouldn't have been as bad if he would have had his shoes on, but they insisted on going without them. He was so upset (can't say I blame him really)
Jonathan found more rocks! Shocking right?

Oh look - so did Matthew! They would pick them up and throw them. I didn't understand the draw, but they loved them.

Matthew started off again without us again. Here he is chasing his shadow.

I had him walking on this because it made funny noises - it distracted him as we waited for Jonathan and Aunt Elizabeth to catch up.

Both boys like to pet the plants as we walk passed. They giggle as they touch them - they love it!
Here's Jonathan "petting" the plants.
Seriously, so much fun. These boys are full of so much life and light. They bring so much joy to our lives. We went for the same walk yesterday. They were tired and therefore cranky with us. We did a lot more carrying then walking yesterday. They still discovered new things, but still love those rocks. Wow, do I love those boys! We even brought Sarah with us yesterday. I am a lucky aunt to have 4 awesome nieces and nephews to call mine.
