We planned a day right in the middle where we would tour a little in the morning, then have a relaxing afternoong. We drove out to Kennedy Space Center and discovered that what we thought was a free tour (with optional paid tours available) were now all paid tours. We waived goodbye to Kennedy Space Center and headed towards Cocoa Beach.

| One day, a long time ago, I wanted to be an astronaut. I was a little sad that this was as close as we got to seeing the Space Center, But....the rest of the day more than made up for it. |
Elizabeth and I have a great friend and former college roommate who lives near Kennedy Space Center who was meeting us later int he day so we let her know our plans had changed and we headed towards the beach.
None of the kids had ever seen the beach. It was quite a treat for all of us. Since our friend Annie and her family were still a little way off, we hit the beach before finding lunch.
 |
| We all managed to get a little wet, but it is Florida and it was hot, so we quickly dried off. |

| Jonathan's reaction when we had to leave to go get lunch. |
 |
| We met up with Annie and her family at Popeye's. Because, if you are going to eat chicken we have KFC in Utah, but we don't have Popeye's. So.....Popeye's. |
 |
| Then it was back to the beach. Here we are. Me, Annie and Elizabeth. Annie is holding her new little Kayla. Ahhh. Oh, how I miss my sweet Annie! LOVED this day! |
 |
| Annie and her family brought their beach gear. Mom and dad had the perfect view. |

I stole some of these pictures from Annie becasue she captured the day so beautifully. It was a perfect way to spend a relaxing day in the middle of a perfect family vacation.
